Privacy notice
How Membula handles your data.
This notice covers dual.membula.io, the dual. demo line and the marketing we send to driving instructors. Last updated 8 October 2026.
Who we are
Membula Ltd (Company No. 16931143), 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, is the data controller for everything on this page. Contact: chirag@membula.io. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), registration number ZC217148.
1. When we contact you about dual.
| What | Details |
|---|---|
| What we hold | Your business name, trading area, published prices and services, and the business phone, email or website you publish. |
| Where it comes from | Public sources: your own website and listings, Google Business Profile, the DVSA “find your nearest driving instructor” service and Companies House. |
| Why we can use it | Legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): telling instructors about a service built for them. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations we only send unsolicited marketing email to limited companies and LLPs. Sole traders and partnerships hear from us by phone (checked against the TPS) or by post, and get a text or email only after they’ve said yes. |
| Personal demo pages | We may make a demo page for your business at a private link, using the public details above, so you can hear the service with your own prices. It isn’t indexed by search engines. Ask us and we’ll correct or delete it the same day. |
| How long | Up to 12 months after our last contact, then deleted. If you opt out, we keep your contact detail on a suppression list so we never contact you again. |
| Your choice | Reply “stop”, use this page, or email us. We act on it straight away. |
2. The demo line
- What it is: a voice conversation with an automated assistant for a driving instructor business (a fictional one, or your own on your personal page).
- What is collected: the audio of the call and a transcript. No account is needed. Please don’t give real personal details on the demo line.
- Who processes it: ElevenLabs, Inc. (our voice provider) as our processor, under its data processing agreement. Some processing may take place outside the UK under UK-approved safeguards.
- Why: legitimate interests, so we can check the demo is working and improve it.
- How long: deleted after 30 days.
3. If you ask us to start
When you fill in the start form we use what you give us to call you, set up your line and invoice you (preparing a contract, Article 6(1)(b)). We keep enquiry details for 12 months if you don’t go ahead, and for the life of the contract plus 6 years if you do.
4. If you become a customer
Your callers’ details belong to you. You are the data controller and Membula is your processor under a written data processing agreement that lists every sub-processor and retention period. Your own privacy notice covers that data.
5. This website
We set no cookies and run no advertising or tracking scripts. Our server keeps daily visit counts and, for personal demo pages, how many times the page was opened and the demo was used. Your browser stores how many demo calls this device made today; that never leaves your device. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address.
6. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correction, deletion, objection or restriction. Email chirag@membula.io and we’ll reply within one month. You can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
